3 Wishes for a 20-Something

What three “gifts” would you give a 20-something if you were a “Forty-Godmother”? 40-something women share three things to help a 20-something get a head start on the confidence to make decisions that are right for themselves. No more woulda, coulda, shoulda.

1. You will have a lot more fun if you lower expectations on things that don’t matter. As life gets more full you can not maintain 100% in all things…make small things small. And learn to adjust on the run. YOU can change the play…bend the rules when you need to.

2. You can’t control everything. There is just no way to to be in control of your surroundings. It is liberating when you realize that. It frees your mind to make the best decision you can with what is in front of you.

3. Chase butterflies. Take time out from your routine to give your mind some air. When you have a big project or are juggling many, it’s easy to keep your head down and keep working towards a deadline. Sometimes a break helps you realize the deadline has changed or give you the space to see the answer that is right in front of you.
