Three Gifts for a 20-Something (177)

Every time I interview a 40-something woman for 40:20 Vision I ask them what three “gifts” would they give a 20-something if they were a “Forty-Godmother”. In essence, three things to help you get a head start on perspective and gain the confidence you need to make decisions that are right for you. No more woulda, coulda, shoulda.

1. You have to find yourself before you find someone else.

2. Being right is not always the point.

3. If you’re doing something that you want to do or on the path to that, you have to work harder than anybody else at it. You need to establish yourself where you are and make it your priority. It shouldn’t just be a summer job mentality. Working a few weekends on something you love is better than spending your life waiting for the weekend.
