The Longest Relationship You Will Have is With Yourself

A double post today. My earlier post was about putting yourself first when it comes to planning for your future. Not to sound so selfish but having financial independence can free you up to give more to yourself and others.

The idea of me first is a big one and I was honored yesterday to do a guest post on a blog dedicated to putting yourself first when it comes to your relationship with yourself, what you eat and ultimately your self image.

Elizabeth Jarrard and Stephanie Horton started their blog, http://www.iamguiltless.com as a forum for women to share guiltfree approach to loving themselves and their bodies. I their own words…

The longest relationship you will ever be in is the one with yourself. The second longest is the relationship with what you eat. We are two dietetic students in Boston who are looking to repair America’s relationship with food and their bodies. It’s time to feel guiltless about loving ourselves.

The longest relationship you will ever be in is the one with yourself. The second longest is the relationship with what you eat. We invite you to share the story of your body and how your relationship with food has shaped it. We hope to inspire and empower you to love yourself dearly and to approach food with a healthy, mindful and grateful mindset. Join us on this journey by submitting your stories to iamguiltless@gmail.com We look forward to learning about you.

Guiltlessly Yours,

Elizabeth and Stephanie

I answered some questions about what 40-somethings have learned along the way on this journey with ourselves in relation to our bodies and eating.
