What three “gifts” would you give a 20-something if you were a “Forty-Godmother”? 40-something women share three things to help a 20-something get a head start on the confidence to make decisions that are right for themselves. No more woulda, coulda, shoulda.
1. My father told me not to ever get married before 30 and it resonated. Completely. I think he realized that there is maturity needed and didn’t want me to feel the pressure to get married.
2. Take time to figure it out. There is no pressure. It is your life. You have the rest of your life. Do what you love.
3. Don’t get caught up in the challenge of getting the hot guy. You lose so much of yourself. It’s not worth it You think, “I’m fat, not pretty enough”. You are constantly trying to keep him from the next hot thing. It’s a terrible feeling.
