What three “gifts” would you give a 20-something if you were a “Forty-Godmother”? Here 40-something women share three things to help a 20-something get a head start on the confidence to make decisions that are right for themselves. No more woulda, coulda, shoulda.
1. Relationship presence. You can’t build a relationship based on the future. What do you have with this person now? Not what do you dream your life could be. Not who you think they could be.
2. If you feel stagnant in your job….look for growth potential. You have to want it. From my twenties to now, I want more. I want something with the growth potential. When you combine that desire with hard work, there is no limitation. It’s really up to you. If you choose to not go anywhere with it, that’s your choice, but the potential is there.
3. Keep on looking for opportunities to volunteer. Channel some of your energy into doing things for other people. It pays back in perspective and a sense of appreciation that will serve you well.
