Three Gifts for a 20-Something (174)

Every time I interview a 40-something woman for 40:20 Vision I ask them what three “gifts” would they give a 20-something if they were a “Forty-Godmother”. In essence, three things to help you get a head start on perspective and gain the confidence you need to make decisions that are right for you. No more woulda, coulda, shoulda.

~

1. Ask questions. Be curious. When  you see something interesting, dig in. It’s the best way to learn.

2. When networking or trying to meet new friends, seek out smaller events focused on a theme.  It’s easier to strike up a conversation and  find things in common. A book treading, a panel discussion or art gallery exhibit opening.

3. Every now and then treat someone to something when they don’t expect it. It just feels good.
