Give Yourself Props

We often are hardest on ourselves. As one 40-something observed, “We say things to ourselves that we would never tell our worst enemy.”  The advice today is from another 40-something woman who learned that stopping and taking stock of your own assets can really make a difference in achieving your goals.

Tell yourself 10 great things everyday. The number one thing that we forget to do is to feel good and secure about yourself. I think this is something I learned for myself later in life. Before you put your feet on the ground in the morning, tell yourself 10 great things about yourself.  Just do it in your mind. If you do it every day it becomes habit and you believe it. Tell yourself 10 great things and you wake up with a smile on your face and it’s just a great way to begin the day. I think that’s a huge thing. They could be the silliest things to like the most important things. Just tell yourself 10 great things. Be thankful for them and be appreciative.”  -40-something, entrepreneur, NYC
