Three Gifts for a Twenty-Something (65)

Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something woman would give a 20-something if she were a “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours?

~1~

“To learn that you have the ability to teach people how to treat you. It’s how you treat yourself. You have to value and honor yourself or no one else is going to do it.”

 ~2~

“You think you know yourself at twenty and you do to some extent, but also give yourself time. Give yourself space to grow and change.”

~3~

“Don’t be critical of your body. It sounds so metaphysical. Yes, we’re all bodies but we’re also more that that. The things that matter to you now really aren’t going to matter in the future. Try not to minimize your existence now [based on perceived physical flaws…or over reliance on physical traits]. It’s all going to be okay. You have so much time to make mistakes. There’s so much life ahead of you.
