Three Gifts for a Twenty-Something (89)

I love these three gifts a reader recently submitted.  What are yours? ?

Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something would give a 20-something as their “Forty-Godmother”.

1.

The older we get, the faster time seems to move. How to slow things down? Make memories. How? Do something “different” or memorable each day, whether it’s exploring your own back yard/city, learning a new skill, exploring new places, or trying a crazy new adventure, the more you fill your mind with memories, the less likely you’ll look back over your lifetime and think “where did the time go?”

2.

From your very first job, take 10% of your paycheck and have it direct deposited into either into a 401K or some other saving/pension/retirement account. When you get a raise, keep that 10% going into savings. If you start now, you’ll never miss it.

3.

Make sure that the people you love know how you feel. Life happens, and sometimes, we don’t get to say “I love you” or “I’m sorry”. Do it now, do it often.
