Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something woman would give a 20-something if she were a “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours?


Work really hard for something that is hard to do. That’s the only way to earn experience hardship and to work your own way though it. By the time you do, it won’t be so hard anymore.


Focus on being interesting rather than being liked. That doesn’t mean doing things that you think other people will think are interesting …it means being genuinely interested in things. Find what you are interested in.


Speak up. If you have something you need to say or explain to someone, do it the first time you have the opportunity. You might not always get a second chance.
