Three Gifts for a 20-Something (63)

Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something woman would give a 20-something if she were a “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours?

“My #1 piece of advice for anyone at age twenty is just to be nice. You can’t control if someone’s  prettier or skinnier, more successful or has a better job or car…but you know what? You can control what people remember about you. It’s totally true!

Think about the people that you care about. It’s the  people that are real.  It’s really the gift of understanding. Everybody is in the same boat and everybody at the end of the day is dealing with their own b****** . We don’t know most of the time because we all put up such facades. You have no idea that insecurity someone’s dealing with or struggles with their family or boyfriend or job. People are doing the best they can.”

“Do not take yourself too seriously. Have as much fun as you possibly can without losing your job.”

“Don’t forget to ask yourself “do you like him?” All the energy goes to “what if he doesn’t like me.” The amount of energy I have spent on my “Why doesn’t he like me?” Seriously ask yourself. Is he smart? Is he funny? Is he nice? Is he worthy of you?”
