“If [most people] could live their lives again, they would live them in a different way. We learned that when we were very young, so we have lived freely. We have had fantastic lives. Life is not measured by how many times you take a breath. It’s only measured by those extraordinary moments that take your breath away.” – Nando Parrado, survivor of the plane carrying the Uruguayan rugby team that crashed in the Andes in 1972.
So many women tell me that you have to appreciate life…every moment. It’s hard to do that when it seems you have so many moments ahead of you. I thought this quote from one of the men who survived for 72 days in the Andes after the crash really helps bring it into perspective. Be open and aware to these moments. A new documentary on the crash is airing on The History Channel this month.
