Three Gifts for a 20-Something (72)

Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something woman would give a 20-something if she were a “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours?

~1~

$5 a day to save. You feel like you have forever to save money. Being 30 or 35 is so far away. But if you can just give up a Starbucks a day, it’s worth it. It’s free money.  They say if you save $5 d a day over 40 years it’s a million bucks.  Start at 20!

~2~

A guardian angel to always get home safely.  Go out. Have fun…get drunk if you want (but not at the Holiday party) but always have a designated friend. Watch out for each other. Don’t let your friends get in trouble.  Be a guardian angle for your best friend and vice versa.  That is what friends are for.

 ~3~

Some help carrying your baggage so it doesn’t seem so heavy. All of us have baggage. If we don’t have baggage, we would be perfect and we’re not perfect. But if you have friends, family, someone to talk to… to help you carry the load, it frees you up. You can say ..’hello baggage, I don’t have time for you right now. Putting you back in the closet…you can go on a trip somewhere else when I feel stronger.’  You already have this gift…you just need to make sure you exercise it.
