Happy New Year's Eve. It's that time of year of looking back, reflecting and most importanly looking forward. To look forward I took a look back at some of the highlights of 40:20 Vision this year. I won't call this a best of ...but here are twelve 40-something words of wisdom to provide perspective!
1. Have You Looked At All Your Options?
"Approach every situation as one option among many...not your only option. Nothing in your twenties is ... keep reading...

Today I'm sharing one more helpful and spot-on answer to the 20-something question on how to deal with a roommate who went from being a welcome a friend during a new transition (moving to a new country) to antagonistic and critical flatmate. Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something would give a 20-something as their “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours?
1.
Boundaries. Not meeting someone's expectations does not necessarily mean you failed.
2.
Don't be afraid of change. Lean to embracce it. It's the one thing you can count on.
3.
A strong support system of friends. To create that network and trust it and nurture it. Friends can carry you through the rough times in life.

Oh how much harder it was to figure out where your friends were going out and to actually have to call someone to ask them out. 40-somethings do remember. I’ve gotten a lot of perspective on the pros and cons of being constantly connected and our predilection for texting from those ... keep reading...
