Three Gifts for a 20-Something (115)

May 19th, 2013 — 12:46pm

Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something would give a 20-something as their “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours? 1. Be your own best friend. Then let that love and support and acceptance overflow to others. Don't rely on others for your self esteem. 2. Get good at time management now. It will only get more difficult as you get older and add on responsibilities. 3. The ability to live the moment ... in the moment you are in now. Don't waste your time in ... keep reading...

Three Gifts for A 20-Something (114)

May 12th, 2013 — 1:01pm

Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something would give a 20-something as their “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours? 1. Set some type of roadmap. The road always turns and that's okay…but I think it is important to say mentally where you want to be and then at least you know what you are turning away from and can adjust your map. Is it a detour, a wrong turn, a scenic drive or is it a new direction?   2. Never do things half ... keep reading...

May 6th, 2013 — 11:46am

Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something would give a 20-something as their “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours?   1. Experimentation. You have all the ingredients. Use your twenties to experiment with your recipe. Try new things and figure out what your secret ingredient is ….the unique tweaks that make the recipe all yours.  2.  Your own props. Don’t depend on someone else to build you up. Let them be the support structure but not the foundation.  3.  Nothing is forever. People change…and you ... keep reading...

Not everyone is going to. Do seek the opinion of people you respect and cultivate and relationships with people that you can ... keep reading...

Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something would give a 20-something as their “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours?   1. Anything you are good at ...try to explore.  2. Try to focus less on the physical.  As physical attributes decrease, self esteem increases. I had a short modeling career in my teens – so I was what would be "perceived" as physically bright, but I had so many self esteem issues then. My appreciation of self was based on the few things I ... keep reading...

Three Gifts for a 20-Something (111)

April 14th, 2013 — 12:44pm

Herewith, three “gifts” one 40-something would give a 20-something as their “Forty-Godmother”. What are yours?   1. Weirdness is cute. Don't date someone who tries to dampen your unique weirdness.  Don't hide your unique quirks on a date and look for what is unique in others. Dating is so much more fun when you stop trying to project what you think that other person wants.  (Of course you also have to apply the 20 year rule...will that ... keep reading...
