Three Gifts for a 20-Something (180)

Every time I interview a 40-something woman for 40:20 Vision I ask them what three “gifts” would they give a 20-something if they were a “Forty-Godmother”. In essence, three things to help you get a head start on perspective and gain the confidence you need to make decisions that are right for you. No more woulda, coulda, shoulda.

~

1. Have a “to do” list and a “not-to-to” list. Don’t be intimated by things you don’t understand. We tend to attack to do lists by the easy first and the hard last. Try breaking down the hard one’s in to chunks it becomes manageable.

2. Know it’s never too late. IT took me 15 years to find my niche in my career. It was  a journey and I love it. Be open…you may surprise yourself. And work with an executive coach if you are stuck.

3. You don’t have to do it all in your twenties….in your work or your relationships, give yourself time to grow and breathe.  The only thing you shouldn’t wait to start is saving.
